Our group, comprising both adults and children, had the privilege of exploring this park and were absolutely mesmerized by the breath-taking pine forest. We couldn’t resist the urge to snap countless photos, attempting to encapsulate the sheer beauty of this enchanting woodland. The park boasts multiple observation towers, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the tranquil ambiance. The children had an absolute blast here, while the steep terrain provided a thrilling and invigorating adventure.

To truly delve into the depths of the forest, it’s important to be physically fit. Moreover, nestled within the pine forest lies a picturesque lake, although regrettably, exhaustion prevented us from visiting it. The gentle breeze that caresses the forest has a soothing effect, lulling one into a state of tranquility. For the convenience of visitors, there are paid toilets, refreshment stalls, and homestay accommodations available.

The entry ticket price is a mere 20 Rs. per person, and children below the age of 5 can enter for free. This natural wonder is an absolute must-visit, allowing you to witness the grandeur of nature firsthand. The vast and dense pine forest will undoubtedly leave you in awe, and it has become a tradition for visitors to capture stunning photographs in this idyllic setting. Our visit to the Eco Park was truly unforgettable, etching beautiful memories in our hearts.

Keep in mind that there is no public transportation available, but you can easily find share cabs at Jorebanglow. The dense pine forest, enveloped in clouds, provides a serene and tranquil vista. Lamahatta, located 23 kilometers from Darjeeling, is a picturesque village in West Bengal.

Established in 2012, the Lamahatta Eco Park was created to showcase the awe-inspiring views of peaks, rivers, and the lush dhupi and pine forests. True to its name, Lamahatta means Monk’s Hermitage, and this place truly offers a peaceful and harmonious environment where nature and humanity coexist. Situated at an altitude of 5,700 feet, this eco-park has an abundance of wonders to offer.

The Lamahatta Eco Tourism Park provides a stunning vantage point of Lamahatta and is a popular tourist destination near Takdah. It is approximately 73 kilometers away from Siliguri and 23 kilometres from Darjeeling. To reach Lamahatta from Darjeeling, you can either hire a private car or opt for a shared jeep. In case you can’t find a direct shared jeep, you can take one to Jorebunglow near Ghum Station and then catch another one to Lamahatta. If you’re coming from Kalimpong, the distance to Lamahatta is around 43 kilometers, and it takes approximately 2 hours to reach. The easiest route is to take the Kalimpong-Darjeeling state highway.

While exploring the park, you’ll be captivated by the sight of colourful prayer flags flutter. The locals believe that when the breeze passes through these flags, it purifies the surroundings and the mind. There is also a staircase leading up the hill between the pine and Dhupi trees.

If you’re looking for accommodation, there are homestays available in Lamahatta. These homestays, supported by the state government, provide a close experience with nature. They are conveniently located opposite the park. On a clear day, you can enjoy breathtaking views from these homestays.
