Version 1: Ujjain, this places an ancient city situated on the easterly bank of the Shipra River. It became the political hub of central India around 600 BCE and served as the capital of the ancient Avanti kingdom, one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas. Despite losing its status as a political center in the early 19th century to Indore, Ujjain remained an important hub for politics, commerce, and culture in Central India. Today, it continues to be a significant pilgrimage site for Shaivites, Vaishnavites, and Shaktas.

 However, there is no need to worry as the shopkeepers, from whom you purchase worship items, will kindly take care of your belongings. Although you can search for locker rooms, we couldn’t find them, throughout your visit, there was a large troop of devotees of Mahakal, making the whole experience last around 55-60 minutes, approximately an hour. Please note that the duration may vary depending on the crowd. Nevertheless, the darshan (sightseeing) experience is truly fulfilling. It is sensible to carry some water with you, if possible. In my opinion, the overall experience was quite positive.
