This is the best option for anyone who do not wish to walk / climb much!

Important about this place

As a trekkers’ hut on the Height of 3600 Meter, this place is fine and attractive. But this is not a hotel and water are very occasional in this area. Only solar motorized Electricity obtainable here. Be careful about charges of extra battery. Please carry extra battery for camera. Charging mobile and camera battery is extremely chargeable. Charging laptop battery is not conceivable. This is a Govt lodge under Gorkha Territorial Direction. This is mainly a dorm type trekkers’ hut. So that anybody can book a single bed for night stay.

For receiving a single room have to book all bed of that room. At pick period getting bed is very problematic as because it’s too inexpensive. So that anyone have to book the bed or room minimum 30 days ago before grasp here. Anybody can book the room from GTA office of Kolkata and Darjeeling. Online booking ability is not obtainable. This hut is situated in the uppermost pick of Bengal and for that reason water is not obtainable here. Kanchenjunga is clearly noticeable from two room’s gaps. And Everest pick is visible from common passageway of all rooms. Mainly vegetarian food is obtainable here. For getting lunch and dinner everybody has to notify the caretaker.

Remember, it’s a trekker’s hut and ran by GTA, so it mostly fits the trekkers or hard-core open-minded travelers. So don’t imagine service like you’d get in a homestay / hotel. The operates are very friendly and co-operating, however, you should recall that they are staffs and not ruled by service-based values as in hotels. The maintenance and upkeep of the place is kind of okays, and you should again be flexible if you wish to stay here. however, the beds and linens are hygienic though. Otherwise, you may choose to stay at hotels such as Hotel Sunrise / Sherpa Chalet at Nepal in its place.

If you are staying during the winters, you must know, the place can get cold as hell throughout the winters, so be ready and carry proper warm clothes if you are drifting during winters. They provide 2 thick warm covers though. The waters will turn into ice at the pre-lunch.

The GTA Huts is on the Indian side and do not have power due to limit of permission from woodland dept. So don’t expect services such as good service, room stoves, geyser etc. like the hotels in Nepal side which have power.

The GTA Huts runs on solar, and dorms do not have any possibility to charge your equipment’s. The staffs help you accusing your devices in the kitchen; however, they too have partial plug points and have to cater everybody’s request. Conditional on the condition they might charge you Rs. 50/- per device as well.

None of the mobile networks works at the Indian side. However, surprisingly, Airtel, BSNL and Jio worked equally well on the Nepal side. You’d even get 4G LTE with countless speeds. The hotels on Nepal side offers WIFI as well.

At last, this place was very costly food price are almost system higher than average price of food because they have to get food in downtown and taking up Pintu Sunday book that he is very costly.

Sandakphu is essentially a viewpoint of Asleep Buddha. this is one of the well-known trek in West Bengal. It is located just beside the Nepal border. The trek starts from Manebhanjan or Dhotrey.
